TUNEY TUESDAY featuring Bastille

Most of us probably know about Bastille by now. Their debut album "Bad Blood" had some pretty strong songs on it and when they re-released the album with the name "All This Bad Blood" their massive talent only grew stronger. One of the things Bastille is known for is their amazing covers of different songs. Their latest single release "Of The Night" is a mash-up of the songs "The Rythm Of The Night" and "Rythm Is A Dancer". The album consists of both their own songs and cover songs which is somewhat rare, seeing as most artists rarely release official cover songs. They tend to stick to youtube videos and often cover songs are just a way to ensure stardom and once an artist break trough he or she stops creating covers and mash-ups. Luckily this was not the case with Bastille. Many of my favorite songs are either a cover or mash-up but their own songs are amazing as well.

There really is no reason for you to not listen to them so I encourage you to go do it now. Even if you already know them - just think of your favorite of their songs and go listen to it! If you're undecided as to which one you feel like hearing you can check out my Top Ten playlist featuring a mix of their songs right here

Record Store Day!

As most of you probably know April 19 was the official Record Store Day. Basically, everybody join together to celebrate music and independent record stores participate. Different artists releases special/limited editions of their music, often on vinyls, and they'll only be available for this event. It's mostly spread in America and in the UK so it's not the biggest event here in Denmark. A quick search on the official page for Record Store Day shows that only five stores in Copenhagen participate. I hope it'll soon spread here but so far I've only been able to admire from afar. However, this year, one very important artist - in my opinion - chose to make their limited edition of their newest single available through their web store. Or I should say three artists. Paramore. I'll be honest with you all - Paramore is my absolute favorite band and I doubt that'll ever change. For Record Store Day Hayley designed a vinyl for their song "Ain't It Fun". It looks like a broken record. Many fans seemed to be quite confused by this. Some claimed the half that's broken off was just see-through while others claimed it couldn't play the track. Do not fear. The track is just placed in the center of the vinyl and the half that most thought was see-through is just not there at all. I love this design and almost cried when I thought I wouldn't be able to get one. Luckily the Paramore team had mercy on us European fans who had no hope of finding it in-store. They put it for sale online and I bought it as soon as I could. It'll be send out on May 5 so I see it as my birthday gift for myself seeing as my birthday is on May 19 so I hope it manages to get here by then. Just look at this beauty!

This vinyl was the only one I managed to get on the real Record Store Day. However, I recently pre-ordered the "X" vinyl from Ed Sheeran and thought it was worth mentioning in this post as well. His "Multiply" album has been in the works for a long time by now - three years I think. I'm sure it'll be worth the wait though. Ed said in an interview with Jack Harries (yes, the youtuber) that it would be a mix of music. There'll be parts that resembles the old album and then there'll be all new stuff, like his single "Sing". I ordered the green vinyl because it's pretty damn cool. I can't wait to learn all his new songs so I'll be in shape to sing/scream along to his concert later this year. There's some different packages for this album on his official site and you can preorder all of them. If you're in doubt have a look!

Another vinyl I've pre-ordered and wanted to mention to you is the "All The Ways You Let Me Down" record from Candy Hearts. They've made some limited editions on vinyl in different colors so be quick if you want one! Originally I wanted the one with blue splatters but it managed to sell out before I got around to buying it. Instead I bought it in yellow and seeing as it's one of my favorite colors it's not a problem at all. Besides the yellow one there's a baby pink one available as well. If you don't really know who Candy Hearts are you should immediately go listen to their single "I Miss You". The three members really know how to make catchy pop-punk songs and Mariel's sweet voice combined with the punk-ish sound of the guitars and basses results in perfect songs for any teenagers. If statements from the members themselves and their merch proves to be right their new songs will be about pizza, coffee, bad ideas, friends and much more. So all the important stuff will be covered. Check them out and be prepared to be impressed! By the way if you want the pink vinyl you might want to hurry seeing as it's only been printed in 350 copies.

Did you get any records for Record Store Day?

Liebster Award

As the title suggest I was nominated for a Liebster Award awhile back by Elizabeth from Little Beauty Blog. It was so nice of her to nominate me and I'm sorry I'm only getting around to do this post now.
You should go check her out, her blog is amazing!

1. What's one beauty product you can't live without?
Probably my L'OrĂ©al Paris Super Liner Perfect Slim Eyeliner!

2. If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
I would really like to be able to copy others' superpowers so I could have a lot of different ones. But if I was the only one with a superpower it should be telekinesis.

3. What is your favourite brand of makeup?
It's a tough choice but I think I'll go with Maybelline.

4. If you could visit any time period, what would it be and why?
I would LOVE to be a teenager in the 90's because of the music and culture.

5. What is your biggest addiction?
Music. Whether it's downloaded, CDs or Vinyls. I never grow tired of finding new music.

6. What is your favourite TV show?
Supernatural and Gilmore Girls are my ultimate favorites but I really like My Mad Fat Diary, Teen Wolf and American Horror Story as well.

7. What is your most embarrassing moment?
I can't think of a specific episode right now... But whenever I stumble over my own feet in public and barely manage to save myself from landing face-first on the ground I get a bit embarrassed.

8. If you could change your name, what would you change it to?
Fun fact, when I was 15 I had this really strong urge to change my name to Isabella and actually managed to convince my parents to let me do it. I changed my mind before I actually managed to change my name though.

9. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I would almost be 30 in 10 years and that's actually really difficult to wrap my head around. But I guess I would like to see myself doing something I was happy with. Preferably married to a band member.

10. Would you rather be famous or be the best friend of someone famous?
The best friend of someone famous.

11. What is your earliest memory?
My earliest memory is a nightmare I had when I was 5 years old, as weird as that is.

Now for my questions;

1. What is your number one favorite thing to blog about?
2. What/who is your favorite band/solo artist?
3. What is currently your favorite song?
4. What is your favorite breakfast?
5. What is the one piece of clothing you absolutely have to have in your wardrobe?
6. Who did you see at your first concert?
7. What do you look forward to the most during the year?
8. What is your favorite make-up product?
9. What are your dreams for the future?
10. Do you have any bad habits?
11. If you should make a playlist for your life with 5 songs, what songs would be on it?

You can nominate yourself if you feel like it, just let me know in a comment I'd love to check it  out! But I'll nominate Lene, Katarina and Rikki just to get it all started!

Manic Music!

First of all let me start by saying sorry for not posting anything for almost a week now! I've been sick and didn't have the energy to post anything remotely interesting and instead of telling you of my illness I though I might as well wait. So let's get this started!

I wanted to give you a round-up of what's been happening in the part of the music world that I find interesting, since it's actually been a busy and expensive week.

Last Monday,I think, my friend told me that Ed Sheeran would play a live show in Denmark in the fall and as you can imagine panic broke out. From the moment I found out I just wanted to get my hands on a ticket as fast as possible. Friday arrived and I was ready at the exact time the tickets would be put for sale. I had never imagined the intense stress that would follow because immediately I ended up in line! Now, I did expect the tickets to sell out but not in an hour. But that's what happened. I had to get three tickets, one for me and two for some friends. I ended up with number 260-something in the line and there would only be 3.000 tickets available. I really panicked but got through in 15 minutes time - phew! My friend Kat managed to get tickets well. She sat right next to me but got something like 400 numbers behind me in the line there was a huge press on the site. Anyway we got all the tickets we needed and that was the important part even though it was really stress-full. So yeah, Ed Sheeran we're ready for you in Copenhagen! If you didn't manage to get tickets there just might be hope for you, cause rumor has it that Ed's management will try to book him into bigger venues since it was basically all over Europe the tickets went so fast. So keep your fingers crossed! Enjoy his new single "Sing"!

Kat also got me hooked on The Kooks since she wanted me to go with her to their concert here in Copenhagen this summer, so naturally I gave them a listen and they are so good. So that was two concert tickets I had to buy, but I regret nothing. I'm sure both shows will be amazing and I'm going with Kat and Lene for both of them and for the Ed Sheeran concert a bunch of our friends will join us,  and I just know it's gonna be amazing. When it comes to music this year will be pretty good let me tell ya.

I hope you all will get to see some of your favorite artists this year! x

TUNEY TUESDAY featuring Lewis Watson

Your tunes for the day are delivered to you by this guy, Lewis Watson. He is a British singer-songwriter with an amazing talent. He's got some different singles and EPs out and as I write you can now pre-order his debut album The Morning. The album have got both completely new songs and songs from former EPs such as Into the Wild and Sink or Swim (one of my favorites). His music is a bit of pop but you know not poppy-pop. More the acoustic-guitar-and-amazing-voice kinda pop. The artist who comes closest to the kind of music Lewis makes would probably be Ed Sheeran in my opinion but their music is still very different form one another.

I really think we can expect even greater things from this guy than we have seen so far, and I can't wait until summer when I'm seeing him play live in a small bar in Copenhagen! Go check him out if you haven't already. xx

You can keep up to date with music and tour dates here.
